• The European Commission may move forward with its EU-US data transfers deal to replace the now-defunct Privacy Shield initiative by the end of this year, justice commissioner Didier Reynders told delegates in a keynote address to the IAPP conference in Washington, D.C. “It is difficult to give a precise timeline at this stage but we expect that this process could be finalized by the end of this year,” Reynders said.
